Hi!
I am new to this forum and not a native english speaker - so please be patient with me ;-)
Reccently I installed 3.0.0.4.260.21 (Merlin build) on my NT66U and like with the stock firmware everything seems pretty stable. Now I don't know if this is a Windows (7 x64) or router settings issue but my "transmission speed" in the Windows 7 network dialog starts at 450Mbit and then down to 270Mbit and jumps from there up and down again. Is there any setting to eliminate or at least soften that behavior? TX energy settings doesn't change much from 5 - 70mW I tried and RSSI stays at around -50 (inSSIDer). My notebook (Intel 6300AGN) is about 4m away from the router, no other wireless devices just 2 wired connections. I am the only user in the 5GHz (fixed channel 36+40) band, 2.4GHz is disabled because it is rather crowded. Everything else are stock firmware settings if I remember correctly. Maybe this behavior is normal and I guess it doesn't have much influence on my internet speed (50Mbit/s) but it might affect streaming stability/speed - especially full HD content, larger files, etc.
If anyone needs more information feel free to ask. I thank anyone in advance for help and suggestions.
Kind regards.
