Tim and friends:
There are a number of articles that deals with finding or building the right NAS. I am hoping to find any articles that discuss the best way to setup and use your NAS.
Here is my situation - my wife and I both have laptops. I also have an MCE, a workstation, and a Synology 1511+.
My wife's MacBook - I just need the NAS to back it up. This is the easy part.
My workstation - it contains music files, family photos, documentation, and some older work files
My MCE - it contains music files and my collection of ripped BD's
My WIN 7 laptop - this is my work computer so it has all the work files. It also stores some family photos.
I am trying to find a logical method to consolidate photos, music, and work files on the NAS and sync it across the different machines, but I am not too sure where to start. I am hoping to see examples of best practices and how folks like yourself are using their NAS.
your input is greatly appreciated.
