Hello guys,
I have an issue with my N66U and setting up static routes and hope I can get some advice here.
Following is what I'm trying to do:
Gateway 1
ASUS n66U
IP address: 192.168.2.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway 2
other router
IP address: 192.168.2.2
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
PC:
IP address: 192.168.2.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Default GW: 192.168.2.1
Connect from PC to www.google.com [173.194.41.100] will go by default route via the default GW = 192.168.2.1
I now want to configure the n66U (192.168.2.1) to redirect only the traffic going to www.google.com [173.194.41.100] to GW 2 (192.168.2.2) instead of the WAN port.
How do I need to setup the n66U in order to do that?
Following configuration on the n66U - LAN - Static Route did not work (trace route shows that the n66U redirects the traffic to 192.168.2.2 and from there to google.com but accessing the same IP via the webbrowser give me a timeout - please note that it works perfectly when I set 192.168.2.2 as the default GW on the PC):
Host: 173.194.41.100
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
GW: 192.168.2.2
Metric: 1 (if set to metric 0 I can see that the router always adds the route as metric 1 in
any case in the routing table)
Interface: LAN
Thanks for your help.
