DS713 with HP1910 switch - bonding

Hi,

I have a Synology DS713 which seems to be working well. Very pleased.
I have a HP1910 switch and I am looking to use both network ports on the Synology bonded together to get better throughput (when appropriate).

I configured the Synology, then I configured the switch (btw so straight forward to do I'm not sure what I could have done wrong) but the device then becomes unavailable.

TBH, I'm surprised that I need to configure both devices - I'd have thought that I'd only need to do either the switch or NAS.

Anyone have any ideas as to what I could have done wrong?
