My very crude network layout is below. I'm making large (e.g., 80+ GB) transfers from SERVER to SERVER2 over the network. Everything seems to be fine until some time into the transfer (it could be 30 minutes at times), the ASUS switch (it's a RT-N66U in AP/switch mode) seems to freeze up. Rebooting it fixes the issue.
When this happens, everything being routed through the ASUS switch is incredibly slow and sometimes just times out, while traffic going only through the d-link switch seems fine. The d-link is an unmanaged switch.
Could it be an issue with jumping between multiple switches? What about NAT?
Do I just need to be on one big switch instead of 3? Thanks.
