RT-N66U first impressions (stock firmware)

Where I am coming from: I've been using WRT54GL with original Tomato Firmware (from polarcloud) until recently. After upgrading my internet connection from 15/2 to 50/8 router has become a weakest link (download speed maxed out @ 35) so I got RT-N66U to replace it. Below are my observations/bug reports/questions (this all applies to stock 3.0.0.4.270 firmware - haven't tried anything else myself yet but watched youtube videos about Merlin/Tomato fw on this router).

1) New firmware is not detected - has 3.0.0.4.260 out out the box. On Asus website 3.0.0.4.270 and 3.0.0.4.354 are now available. I upgraded manually to 3.0.0.4.270

2) UI page switching via HTTPS is much slower than via HTTP (using FF 19) - when switching to another page menus on the left and on the top disappear for a couple seconds and then come back. Chrome 25.x is about as bad as FF. Less of a problem in IE 8.0. Original Tomato fw (polar cloud) on WRT54GL shows no difference when HTTPS is used vs HTTP.

3) Manual IP assignment (should be called "Static DHCP"): no hostname - hard to tell which one is which as opposed to original Tomato fw; why is limit 32?; can't paste MAC or IP; does it really need to reboot when new item is added? Is this any different on Merlin?

4) [BUG] "Logout" doesn't really logout - I can logout, close tab, reopen UI in another tab (same browser instance) and will not be asked for a password. In original Tomato fw as soon as you logout login dialog comes up in the same tab and one MUST enter user name/pw to login again.

5) Under "Wireless" it is unclear what network is currently selected (ASUS or ASUS_5G). Is this fixed in Merlin? Or am I missing something?

6) No monthly stats, can't save stats to USB. It is fixed in Merlin/Tomato, right?

7) Host name is not displayed in "Network Map"/"Client Status" for some clients; MAC and hostname cannot be displayed at the same time (as opposed to Tomato). Is this fixed in Merlin?

8) Where is CPU/Memory usage page? Present in Tomato, is it fixed in Merlin?

9) Why can't one log in from more than one computer at the same time? What if someone in another building logged in an went home?

Personal pet peeves (coming from WRT54GL): No button in front (so that WiFi can be easily disabled), form factor ( not rectangular, can't stand on the side without a stand), LED is not in the front

On a positive note - it works with WiMax FreedomPop (ClearWire MVNO) hotspot connected via USB.
